When you just don’t know what to do and you are having doubts about your parenting skills, you may feel like you’re all alone in the world. You’re not! We’ve all been through it and we’ve all come through the other side better people and that includes our kids. Here are some tips on how we’ve dealt with a variety of parenting problems and survived.
Get your kids in the kitchen. Asking them to help, even in small ways, with meal time will get them more interested in the meal you’re preparing. They’re likely to eat better if they are more interested. In addition, it keeps your children from becoming bored while you’re trying to cook.
Do not try to introduce the bottle to a normally breastfeed baby who is hungry. A hungry baby will not understand what the bottle is for and will reject it immediately because he at this point only associates food with the breast. Get the baby used to the bottle when they are not hungry so that they can learn that it provides food as well.
If your baby or young child has diarrhea, make sure to give them Pedialyte and lots of fluids. Just like adults, babies and young children get dehydrated after they have had excessive diarrhea, which can cause severe health problems. If your child has diarrhea for more than a few days, bring him or her to the doctor.
Just hold tight, breathe deeply and remember that tomorrow is another day. Implement the techniques we’ve supplied and come up with some of your own. Parenting is the hardest job on earth and there is no handbook or training that can truly prepare you for it. The beauty is that the foundation you are laying for your child, is well worth the effort!
