Wescom Credit Union and Great American Credit Union Announce Merger | Business Wire

PASADENA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Wescom Credit Union and Great American Credit Union have jointly


announced the merger of the two credit unions. Great American Credit


Union, which is located in San Diego and has more than 8,800 members and


$57 million in assets, will merge into Wescom. The anticipated merger


date is December 1 dependent upon approval by Great American’s


membership.


The merger will be beneficial to both credit unions. Wescom will


strengthen its San Diego County presence by nearly doubling its branch


locations from five to nine. This will give Wescom members in San Diego


County more convenience and choice in conducting their banking. Great


American members will benefit from additional products and services,


enhanced technology and extended branch hours. As part of the agreement,


Wescom will maintain and operate all four Great American branch


locations in the San Diego area. Moreover, Wescom will offer employment


to all Great American employees.
